The Stapleford Park Aviation Day
Glorious sunshine marked Stapleford Park's first Aviation Day, which saw helicopters, former Red Arrows pilots, the last Vulcan bomber and Melton Mowbray's Model Aircraft Society all sharing the same airspace.

The Blades
A Land Rover terrapod showcasing the new Evoque, a champagne reception for the women at the Cavell's makeover show and an enlightening talk by Jim Turner, recently appointed Squadron Leader of the Red Arrows, ensured there was just as much entertainment on the ground. The day was headlined by The Blades, whose daredevil air acrobatics had everyone's necks craned.

The 2011 Stapleford Park Shooting Championships
Following the huge success of the inaugural Shooting Championships in 2010, twenty teams participated in the second annual Stapleford Park Shooting Championships supporting LOROS and The Prince's Trust.
The shooting programme was organised by the Really Wild company across Lord Gretton's Stapleford Estate. Five drives of simulated game were set up with each team shooting 200 clays on each drive.

Across five drives of simulated pheasant, grouse and partridge the teams were suitably challenged. Last year's winners, Avery Healthcare, were this year pipped at the post by Team 555 Supporters captained by Mark Bradley. Following the shooting, guests returned to the hotel to watch both a gundog scurry and the Top Individual Gun competition which was won by Bob Franks. The auction was held for LOROS and Prince's Trust.

The event was sponsored by The Sturgess Group who supplied each of the teams with a Range Rover Discovery and chauffeur for the day. The championships were created and run by the events division of the hotel, The Stapleford Forum. Next year's Shooting Championships will take place again in early September.
